诺丁汉大学卓越灯塔计划（宁波）创新研究院将围绕智能制造、绿色化学与能源、生命健康三大重点科研领域进行布局，汇聚全球科技创新资源，建立集创新研究、成果转化、技术转移、人才培养于一体的国际化科技创新综合平台。

诺丁汉大学卓越灯塔计划（宁波）创新研究院系列讲堂（以下简称“卓越灯塔“系列讲堂）旨在分享宁波诺丁汉大学在智能制造、绿色化学与能源、生命健康三大重点领域的科研成果，传播科学家精神，交流科研创新和知识转化的经验，培育下一代年轻科学家和工程师，为地方经济发展注入新的活力。

首期卓越灯塔系列讲堂将邀请马丁·波利亚科夫教授线上开讲，为大家带来题为《绿色化学前沿》的公开讲座。

20多年来，诺丁汉大学一直处于发展绿色和可持续化学的前沿。本次讲座将介绍诺丁汉在绿色化学方面的研究成果，展现我们是如何与工业界合作开发更清洁的工艺技术。讲座也将通过诺丁汉独一无二的碳中和实验室，向大家直观呈现可持续绿色化学是如何实现的。

马丁.波利亚科夫教授，大英帝国爵士，是英国诺丁汉大学化学系教授。自1979年加入英国诺丁汉大学以来，深耕绿色化学领域，是全球绿色化学研究的领军人物之一。2011-2016年间，他担任英国皇家学会（英国科学院）副主席兼管对外事务。他还是英国皇家工程院院士。早在1998年，波利亚科夫教授应邀参加了中国首届绿色化学大会，并在会上带来了精彩的发言。除了担任中国化学学会荣誉会员以外，他在去年还获得了2019年中华人民共和国国际科学技术合作奖。

这位集众多高大上头衔于一身的波利亚科夫教授还是个知名“国际网红”，人称“爱因斯坦”教授（因爱因斯坦式的爆炸头形象深入人心）。他在全球最大的视频网站YouTube设立了个人频道---“Periodic videos”，拥有超过百万的粉丝。Martyn和他的团队通过制作化学元素视频，用风趣幽默的方式向网友们介绍并宣传一些有趣的化学知识，以此来推广和科普化学知识。

//关于诺丁汉大学卓越灯塔计划//

“卓越灯塔”计划，是英国诺丁汉大学于2017年6月启动的一个重大项目，旨在集合诺丁汉大学的科研“优势兵力”，探索全球面临的关键问题并找出解决方案。

2019 年 5 月，宁波市人民政府与英国诺丁汉大学签订战略合作框架协议共建诺丁汉大学卓越灯塔计划（宁波）创新研究院。创新研究院围绕智能制造、绿色化学与能源、基于大数据的生命健康三大重点领域，大力引进英国诺丁汉大学 “卓越灯塔”计划重要国际科技创新与人才资源，发挥宁波诺丁汉大学立足宁波、面向国际的优势，按照“科技创新、人才培养、成果转化、产业发展”四位一体的合作模式，打造国内领先、国际一流的科技创新平台，为宁波“246”产业集群构建提供强大且持久的科技支撑，为健康生活、智慧便捷、绿色低碳的社会提供前瞻性的产业化技术。

Lecture series of Nottingham Ningbo China Beacons of Excellence Research and Innovation Institute

The Nottingham Ningbo China Beacons of Excellence Research and Innovation Institute is a comprehensive platform that integrates global scientific innovation resources, in order to achieve innovative research, knowledge transfer and talent cultivation.

The Institute primarily addresses three prominent issues – Smart Manufacturing, Green Chemicals and Energy, Life Science and Health Care, all of which are closely connected with local development goals.

Each of the three areas will have a dedicated research centre hosting leading scholars and researchers. New academic staff will be recruited from all over the world to work in the institute.

The Institute launches lecture series to share the latest research outcomes from these three key research areas in the University of Nottingham, bridge the young and senior scientist for better communication and exchange and also help to promote the science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) among the public.

The first session we invited Professor Sir Martyn Poliakoff to give a public lecture named “Frontiers of Green Chemistry” next Friday 13th November 2020.

The University of Nottingham has been at the forefront on Green and Sustainable Chemistry for over 20 years. This talk will introduce some research in Green Chemistry at our University, will explain how we have worked with industry to develop cleaner processes and will describe our unique Carbon Neutral Laboratories showing how chemistry can be carried out in a more sustainable way.

Sir Martyn Poliakoff is Research Professor of Chemistry at University of Nottingham UK where he has worked since 1979. He is one of the pioneers of Green Chemistry.  From 2011-16, he was Vice-President and Foreign Secretary of the Royal Society (the UK Academy of Sciences).  He is also a Fellow of the Royal Academy of Engineering.  Sir Martyn was a speaker at the first Chinese Conference on Green Chemistry in Hefei in 1998. He is an Honorary Fellow of the Chinese Chemical Society, and Winner of the 2019 International Science and Technology Cooperation Award of the People’s Republic of China.
