【性状】白色结晶性粉末；无臭，味微苦。本品在乙醇或中略溶，在水中几乎不溶；在稀氢氧化钠溶液中溶解，在稀酸中几乎不溶。
【药理作用】本品为化学合成的苯甲酸衍生物。能抑制肾小管对尿酸盐的再吸收，促进尿酸排泄，降低血浆尿酸盐的浓度。可用于慢性痛风，对急性痛风无效(因无镇痛及消炎作用)。又能抑制青霉素类、头孢菌素类、对氨基水杨酸等药物的排泄，故与青霉素、头孢菌素合用，可增加血药浓度，延长其药效，并可减少其药量。临床用于治疗与高尿酸血症有关的痛风性关节炎。也可作为青霉素、头孢菌素治疗的增效剂，以提高此类药物的血药浓度。

Can inhibit renal tubular resorption of uric acid salt, promote the uric acid excretion, reduce the concentration of plasma uric acid salt. Can be used for chronic gout, for acute gout is invalid (because there was no analgesic and anti-inflammatory effects). And inhibit the penicillin and cephalosporin, excretion of drugs such as amino salicylic acid, and penicillin and cephalosporin used, can increase the blood drug concentration, extend its effectiveness, and can reduce the dosage.
