主要用途：水杨羟肟酸能与锡、钨、稀土、铜、铁等金属形成稳定的螯合物，而与碱土金属及碱金属形成不稳定的螯合物，所以，水杨羟肟酸具有较好的选择性。特别是水杨羟肟酸与锡石螯合时不仅能形成多种形式的外络盐，而且还能形成不同构成的内络盐，因此，水杨羟肟酸对锡的选择性较强。该品在锡石选矿中通常与P86配套使用，并具有一定的起泡性。该品还具有毒性低（是卞基胂酸的十六分之一，故此品的应用还可以使环保问题得到大大改善）、用药量少、适用性强等特点，具有较高的推广应用价值。
