合成方法编辑
由2-萘酚在硫酸存在下与乙醇醚化而得。将2-萘酚溶于无水乙醇，滴加浓硫酸，加热回流10h。反应液倾入5%的氢氧化钠液中，析出灰白色结晶，过滤，用冷水洗至pH=7.5，干燥，得2-乙氧基萘。收率96%。粗品可用减压蒸馏精制，收集138~140℃（1.6kPa）馏分。也可由硫酸二乙酯或卤代乙烷与2-萘酚钠盐反应来制取。 [1]
用途编辑
该品具有橙花和洋槐花的香味，并伴有甜味和草莓、菠萝样的芳香，常用作皂用香精（橙花香）、廉价的化妆香精、草莓香精等调合香料。在医药上用于乙氧萘青霉素钠的原料。
