化学性质
1、遇明火、高热可燃。若遇高热，容器内压增大，有开裂和爆炸的危险。

应用
用于制造香皂和纸烟。也用作有机化学合成的中间体、纤维树脂等的溶剂和塑料的增塑剂。用于调配樱桃、见过、番茄、草莓、杏等食用香精，也可用于烟用香精中。在最终加香食品中的建议用量为0.6~20mg/kg [4] 。
作溶剂使用时，有沸点高、稳定、气味愉快等特点。溶解能力与环己酮相似，能溶解硝化纤维素、乙酸纤维素、乙烯树脂、香豆酮树脂、醇酸树脂、甘油醇酸树脂等。常与乙醇、酮、酯以及其他溶剂混合使用。
