葡萄糖酸钠是一种多羟基羧酸钠，又名：五羟基己酸钠，外观为白色或浅黄色结晶颗粒或粉末，极易溶于水，微溶于醇，不溶于醚。产品具备良好的缓凝效果和极好的呈味性，在建筑、洗涤、食品和医药行业用途十分广泛。随着国家建设力度的加大和对建筑质量的严格要求，以及洗涤等新领域的逐步开发，酸钠产品需求量急剧增加，呈现出巨大的市场潜力。
一、在洗瓶防垢剂（洗瓶机专用）内添加剂后起到以下作用
1、外观改善（1）提高玻璃瓶和PET瓶喷淋效果（2）使水不挂壁,自由流下（3）防止水垢在喷淋区、瓶盒、链条上形成(4)适合于各种硬度的水。
2、提高运作效率（1）降低总的运作费用（2）最小限度退瓶、重洗（3）适用于各种类型洗瓶机（4）延长洗瓶机寿命。
3、环境效应（1）含有生物降解成份（2）可回收性包装（3）使用推荐浓度含磷极低。
二、用作钢铁表面清洗剂：钢铁表面如需要镀钵、镀铬、镀锡、镀镍以适应特殊用途时，其钢胚表面需要经过严格清洗，是镀层物与钢铁表面牢固结合，这时候其清洗药剂中添加葡萄糖酸钠将会达到十分理想的效果。
三、用作玻璃瓶专用清洗剂：用葡萄糖酸钠为主要配方的玻璃瓶专业清洗剂可改善以下常见问题：去垢力不强，易堵塞洗瓶机的喷咀及管路；对瓶贴及瓶颈铁锈去染力不理想；洗后微量残留物对食用安全性不理想（如磷酸盐残留）；洗涤水排放成公害。

It is very soluble in water, slightly soluble in alcohol, and insoluble in ether. The product has good retarding effect and excellent flavor, and is widely used in construction, washing, food and pharmaceutical industries.
